Attendee at the 2023 Meeting discuss abstract posters

We are excited to bring the ASHG 2024 Annual Meeting to Denver, Colorado, from November 5-9. Over the course of 5 days, the meeting will cover a broad spectrum of topics including new technologies, applications, and research to showcase the most compelling genetics and genomics science of the year. It is a perfect place to present or learn about cutting-edge research findings while uncovering new insights as we continue to advance the field.

Submit an Abstract

Members and nonmembers are encouraged to submit their latest research by June 5, 5pm ET for programming at the ASHG 2024 Annual Meeting. If accepted, your abstract will get programmed as a plenary, platform, or poster presentation.

Additionally, The American Journal of Human Genetics (AJHG) and Human Genetics and Genomics Advances (HGGA) have agreed to send for peer review all manuscripts that report the findings presented by ASHG members in a plenary or platform talk at ASHG 2024. Note that acceptance is not guaranteed.

Apply for an Award to Offset Your Travel Costs

Apply for these merit-based awards by submitting an abstract:

  • Trainee Research Excellence Awards – merit-based travel awards for predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees ranging from $750 – $2,000.
  • Resource-Limited Travel Awards – help defray the costs of ASHG Annual Meeting participation for individuals living in resource-limited countries categorized by the World Bank as having low-income or lower-middle-income economies.
  • Human Genetics Scholars Initiative – a 2-year, year-round mentorship program for individuals from underrepresented groups.

Cost Savings

ASHG strives to make its Annual Meetings as affordable as possible, so various registration rates are offered to ease the financial burden. We recommend registering before the early deadline on August 21 at 5pm ET to take advantage of the lowest rates. Becoming a member of ASHG will save you even more! The regular member registration rate saves you up to $400 – that’s more than the cost of membership itself!

Other ways to reduce costs for attendance include:

  • Booking your flight and making your hotel reservations early to take advantage of lower rates.
  • Consider reaching out to colleagues attending so you can consider sharing a room.

Please see our post for additional ways to save.

Return on Investment Toolkit

Make a strong case for attending ASHG 2024 by explicitly connecting your institution’s goals, as well as your work and professional development, to the educational opportunities offered by using ASHG’s return on investment toolkit.

Dress Code

We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your meeting experience. Business casual dress is strongly encouraged. We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you during the day because meeting rooms are air-conditioned, and comfortable shoes since convention centers are large and may require a lot of walking.

Accessibility & Childcare

ASHG is committed to providing access and an outstanding experience to all attendees and speakers. Please see the accessibility page for information on designated spaces, childcare, scooter rental, and ADA accommodations.
