Careers in Genetics: Research Compliance Officer

Research Compliance Officers are administrative professionals who ensure that research is being done ethically and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, most often for a government agency or academic institution. These professionals are experts in both federal and state regulations, as well as industry standards, and advise scientists on laws or regulations which may impact their research. Compliance Officers may also develop training materials to educate research and administrative staff on applicable laws and regulations and manage regulatory licenses and databases. Most positions require research or health compliance certification.
