Membership Payments, Refund, Cancellation and Changes Policy
Membership Terms and Conditions
Membership in the Society is on a calendar year basis from January 1 through December 31. By purchasing a Society membership, you acknowledge and understand that the membership term will expire December 31 of the calendar year specified on the Product description. By purchasing a membership with ASHG, you agree to pay annual dues in full at time of joining or renewing. If you purchased an incorrect membership type, you may only change your membership type at the time of renewal for the next calendar year. Automatic renewal of your membership dues may occur up to 30 days prior to or after membership expiration (December 31). You may change your membership subscription from automatic to manual renewal at any time through your Account portal. ASHG offers early renewal and new sales of the next calendar year’s membership either during or after the Annual Meeting each fall. We will notify you when the next calendar year of membership opens for renewal and new sales. When you join or renew your membership with ASHG, you agree to comply with the Society’s Code of Ethics.
By becoming a member, you agree to ASHG obtaining and retaining contact data, billing and payment information, demographic data, and a password and valid email address in accordance with and for purposes outlined in the ASHG Privacy Policy.
Membership Dues Refund or Membership Cancellation/Changes
A full-membership dues refund is only available if there was an unauthorized use of a credit card or a duplicate membership was purchased, and we are contacted in writing (membership@ashg.org) no more than 30 days after your membership was purchased. There will be NO REFUNDS after 30 days of membership have passed and refunds will not be issued if an abstract submission is not accepted. Refunds will be made to the original payment method used for purchasing the membership. If the incorrect membership category was purchased, membership category can be changed at the time of renewal for the next calendar year.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our refund and cancellation policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new refund and cancellation policy on this page. You are advised to review this refund and cancellation policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this refund and cancellation policy are effective when they are posted on this page. By clicking on “process payment” you are agreeing to our refund and cancellation policy.
