Description

Instructors: Amy Stark, John Campbell, Kassi Brooks

Human genetics is everywhere, from ancestry kits to medical news. While geneticists value public engagement, building outreach from scratch is a massive time commitment most do not have. This workshop lowers that barrier. Instead of reinventing the wheel, we provide the “how-to” and hands-on experience needed to engage all ages effectively. Bypass the trial-and-error of public engagement and gain ready-to-use skills. Join us to transition from “wanting to do outreach” to having skills you can implement in your community immediately. This workshop is ideal for participants with a genuine interest in hands-on engagement from graduate students to post-docs to faculty. Trainees may be able to gain hands-on skills and faculty may gain ideas to have their labs and trainees to implement in the future.
