Highlights from ASHG 2016
The American Society of Human Genetics 2016 Annual Meeting was held October 18-22, 2016, in Vancouver, British Columbia. This year’s meeting had a total attendance of 7,998 – including scientific attendees, exhibitors, press, and speakers. It featured a number of New Initiatives, including several changes to the program’s structure.
Webcasts and Slides Available Online
Video recordings of the 2016 Presidential Address, Presidential Symposium, Invited Sessions, ASHG/ESHG Building Bridges Session, and Award Presentations are now available on the ASHG web portal. Please note that some speakers declined to have their presentations recorded or posted online.
In addition to the presentations that were recorded, many platform presenters have opted in to sharing their slides via the web portal.
2016 Meeting Statistics
Total number of meeting attendees: 7,998
- Scientific attendees (members, non-members, speakers, and press): 6,433
- Exhibit personnel and guests: 1,565
The 2016 scientific program included 12 featured plenary abstract presentations, 301 platform presentations, and more than 3,000 poster presentations. There were also 18 invited sessions and 10 interactive invited workshops.
The 2016 Exhibit Hall featured 354 booths from 242 exhibiting companies.

ASHG looks forward to seeing you next year in Orlando, October 17-21. Key dates and deadlines:
