Boards

ASHG Executive Committee
The President, President-elect,
Immediate Past President, Past Past
President, Executive Vice
President, Secretary, Treasurer and
Executive Director shall compose an
Executive Committee which shall be
authorized, subject to review by the
Board, to act on behalf of the Board
between meetings.

ASHG Finance Committee
The FINANCE COMMITTEE shall consist
of the Treasurer, who will chair the
committee, the President, the
President-elect, the Journal Editor and
the Executive Vice President and the
Executive Director. The Finance
Committee will advise the Board and the
Treasurer on the allocation of funds,
within the limits set by the Board.
In practice, because the Board deals
thoroughly with ASHG business at its
meetings, interim intervention by these
subcommittees is seldom required.
FASEB Representation
The Federation of American Societies for
Experimental Biology (FASEB), is a corporate
body of independent Societies with an
aggregate membership of 60,000 biomedical
scientists governed by a Board of Directors.
The ASHG is one of 21 professional
scientific societies that comprise FASEB,
and has representation on its Board of
Directors and several FASEB committees. As a
federation, FASEB ensures access to and
involvement in a wide variety of policy
issues of national and international
interest. ASHG members chosen for these key
positions are charged with providing a voice
for the genetics community, participating in
the decision-making process, and
communicating/consulting with the ASHG Board
of Directors on policy decisions that may
have an impact on the Society. Current FASEB
