ASHG will be switching to a new membership system in February 2018. Please see the following frequently asked questions and answers.

System Transition Services and Outage

Why is ASHG switching to a new membership and Web Portal system?
The new system will improve our service to members and enhance the security of member information.

Which ASHG services will be affected?
The membership form, including join and renew functions; and the Web Portal, which includes access to past meeting webcasts, will be affected. This means that you will not be able to join ASHG, renew your membership, or log in to the Web Portal during the outage. All other ASHG website pages will be fully functional.

When will the membership form and Web Portal be unavailable?
The membership form and Web Portal will go offline at 12:00 noon U.S. Eastern Time on Friday, February 23, and will be back online on Tuesday, March 6 at 5:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time.

Do I need to update my information?
If the email address associated with your membership is current, you do not need to make any updates.

I don’t know if I have an ASHG Web Portal login. How do I check this?
To check if you have a login, enter your last name and the email address associated with your membership on the Web Portal Sign Up page: If you have watched Annual Meeting webcasts in the past, you have an account.

I have an ASHG Web Portal account but do not remember my ID or password. How do I log in?
To retrieve your Web Portal ID and/or password, visit the Web Portal Retrieval page: After the membership system transition, you will receive an email with instructions on resetting your password.

After the System Transition

For what purposes will I need an ASHG Web Portal account?
You will need to use this account to join the Society or renew your membership, submit an abstract or register for the Annual Meeting, access past meeting webcasts, and other functions.

How do I set up my ASHG Web Portal account?
You will receive an email in early March with your new Web Portal username (your preferred email address) and a link to set up your password.

I am a spouse/partner member, and my email address is associated with my record as well as that of my spouse/partner. How should I proceed?
ASHG discontinued the spouse/partner membership option in January 2018. Moving forward, each spouse/partner will need their own membership and Web Portal account.

I manage the ASHG membership and/or Annual Meeting attendance of several people using my email address. How should I proceed?
Please contact for assistance. Moving forward, only one person may be associated with an email address.
