The clinical training program is based in the Eastern Ontario Regional Genetics Program, situated in an expansive new wing of a major children's hospital serving a population of 1.2M. It offers exposure to a wide range of patient presentations and research efforts incorporating dysmorphology, metabolics, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, prenatal diagnosis, cancer genetics and neurogenetics. The clinical training programs are enhanced by the presence of very active basic science research programs at adjacent university- and hospital-affiliated research institutes, including the newly constructed Apoptosis Research Institute.
