| We have an American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) approved Pediatrics/Genetics combined training program. It is a 5-year program that upon successful completion makes the successful resident Board eligible in both Genetics and Pediatrics. The sequence is: 1st year - 12 months of pediatrics; 2nd year - 9 months of pediatrics, 3 months genetics; 3rd year - 6 months pediatrics, 6 months genetics; 4th year - 6 months pediatrics, 6 months genetics; 5th year 12 months genetics. Any non-US citizen must have a J-1 or H-1B visa before starting the residency. For applicants from foreign medical schools, we require certification from the ECFMG, also at least one year of a formal, clinical training program (Observerships DO NOT qualify). USMLE Steps 1&2&3 must be completed. We do not have an absolute score requirement. We do not accept paper applications. We only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Application deadline is November 1. We also have a residency/fellowship program one-year clinical and 2-year research fellowship program listed under the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine/Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Fellowships begin in July of each year. | |
