Clinical faculty interests include dysmorphology, teratology, neurogenetics, inborn errors of metabolism, and prenatal diagnosis. Faculty see all ages for routine symptomatic evaluation and diagnosis of birth defects and family disorders due to a varity of genetic and environmental etiologies, and their related counseling/treatment. Presymptomatic evaluation, counseling, testing and post-counseling are available. Two Reproductive Geneticists coordinate prenatal diagnostic activities. There are 12 non-prenatal clinics/mon.; two are separate speciality clinics (Genetics Neurofibromatosis, and Inborn Errors of Metabolism). A satellite clinic is held monthly. Clinical service laboratories are on-site:Clinical and Molecular Cytogenetics; Clinical Molecular; and Clinical Biochemical Genetics. Cytogenetic expertise and clinical load are excellent for trainees. Two certified Genetic Counselors and two Clinical Genetic Nurses provide support staff. The program is in the process of expanding and affiliating with other university and community resources to fund fellowship training opportunities.
