Sponsorship Opportunities

Opportunities for sponsorship at the 57th ASHG Annual Meeting are available to contracted exhibitors and to government agencies (exceptions must be approved by the Society).

Sponsorships will be awarded based on first offer received (i.e., application and check or credit card received date). If the requested event has already been assigned, ASHG will contact the applicant to discuss other available options.

Invited Scientific Sessions $5,000
  Distinguished Speakers' Symposium $10,000

High School Student/Teacher Workshop $1,000-$5,000
  250 students and teachers from the San Diego area will spend a full day at the San Diego Convention Center on Tuesday, October 23. The Workshop will consist of multiple interactive sessions, including a DNA extraction and an experiment that covers the genetics of the senses. Students and teachers will also have the opportunity to explore conservation genetics, stem cells, collecting their family history and newborn screening in a number of break-out sessions.  

Bus Transportation for students and teachers to and from the High School Student/Teacher Workshop $5,000
  The San Diego school system has specifically requested assistance with transportation for their students and teachers. They cannot come for a full-day workshop unless we receive sponsorship for bus transportation.  

Undergraduate Workshop $7,500
  Fifty genetics educators will have a full-day workshop concentrating on improving pedagogical approaches to teaching genetics to undergraduates and similar audiences. The agenda for the workshop is now available. Tuesday, October 23.  

Trainee-Mentor Luncheon $1,000-$5,000
  A wonderful opportunity for trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral
fellows and clinical fellows) in the field of human genetics to chat
informally with senior members of the Society about career goals and
options. Wednesday, October 24
 

Trainee Networking Reception $1,000-$5,000
  This event is designed for trainees specifically interested in learning more about different careers in genetics and networking with individuals in those careers. This session will have a keynote speaker who will discuss negotiation skills, a panel of genetics professionals that will provide hints for trainees looking for non-traditional careers, and a one-hour networking session where trainees can discuss career options over dessert and drinks with individuals representing more than 10 different fields. Wednesday, October 24.  

Meeting CD $12,000
  Great company visibility. A CD containing complete meeting information,
searchable abstracts, and itinerary planner will be distributed to all registrants. Sponsor will be acknowledged 1) on the sponsorship page of the Abstracts Volume and the Program Guide, 2) on session room slides, 3) on the ASHG Annual Meeting Web site, and 4) on the CD face and in the CD text.
 

Curbstone Consultations $2,500
  Opportunities on Wednesday, October 24, and on Friday, October 26, for registrants to present interesting cases to a group of expert clinical geneticists, with discussion to follow—a popular destination for attendees. Acknowledgment of your support will appear on signage at the door, 2) on the sponsorship page of the Abstracts Volume and the Program Guide, 3) on session room slides, 4) on the ASHG Annual Meeting Web site, 5) and in the CD text.  

Poster Session Refreshment Breaks (3 available) $10,000 each
  Sponsor one or all. Excellent visibility at these well-attended Exhibit Hall events. Session Coffee/Soda Breaks $5,000 each
  Select from four morning or four afternoon refreshment breaks. Attendees pay Attention to these tables and have requested that we do more! Signage acknowledging your support will be placed at each food station  

Opening Mixer $12,000
  A popular first evening get-together for all meeting attendees in a relaxed and casual setting. Speaker Ready Room $2,500
  Speakers use this lounge to review their presentations and meet with other
