![]() Trainee Awards Program ** Nominations are now closed.For outstanding trainee research in 2007, the American Society of Human Genetics
will award 30 trainee awards at $300 each to semifinalists, based on abstracts
scored by members of the Program Committee. Of those 30 trainee awardees, 18
finalists (top scorers reviewed by the Awards Committee) will receive
complimentary registration. These 18 finalists’ presentations will be evaluated
by three reviewers at the annual meeting. Six winners will be chosen (one in
each category, see below). They will win an additional $200 each to be presented
at the Awards program on the last day of the meeting.
Semi-finalists and finalists will be notified in September by mail. Members of the Awards Committee are David Valle, chair; Michael Boehnke; Anne Bowcock, Jan Friedman; John Moran; Robert Nussbaum; Wylie Burke, ex officio. Eligibility New this year: The nominee must be a member of ASHG. An online membership application will be available through the abstract submission process, or click here for an online ASHG membership application. The nominee may not be more than six years in postdoctoral training. The nominee must have performed a major portion of the work, which must be verified in writing by the nominator. The form is available at the 2007 abstract submission site, online on April 10. The nominator must be an active member in good standing of The American Society of Human Genetics.
