Convention Center Facility ADA Accessibility Information

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center meets all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. A few of these details are listed below.

  • Braille shown on most direction signage

  • Handicapped parking is not available at the Convention Center. Each driveway is equipped with "cut ins" to allow for those arriving with wheelchairs to have easy access into the front doors.  Attendees may be dropped off at the respective driveways; however there is no parking at the MCC, handicapped, or otherwise.

  • Walkways, curbs and ramps are stable, firm, and relatively non-slip under all weather conditions.

  • Several building entrances are automatic and operate in a manner and direction that does not present a danger to the guest. There are several exterior doors that are automated with "push buttons." Attendees press the button and the glass door will automatically swing open.

  • Public bathrooms in the center are all ADA compliant and provide (at least) one wheelchair accessible stall per bathroom.

  • Elevators operate to all public levels of the facility

  • There are several public telephones and water fountains throughout the center that are accessible to wheelchair level. There are TDD phones located in the phone banks throughout the facility.

  • Meeting rooms are centrally located to prevent undue problems for persons with mobility limitations.
