Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs Administrators work for academic institutions or non-academic organizations that employ graduate students or postdocs, usually within a particular college or department. They are responsible for creating and implementing professional development programs that strengthen trainees’ (undergraduate/graduate students or individuals completing post-baccalaureate training) scientific and career skills. Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs Administrators foster a sense of community by creating opportunities to support and train their students and enhance the graduate and postdoctoral experience. They must have strong interpersonal skills and work closely with trainees to help bridge the gap between academics and the job market.
