Highlights from ASHG 2015

The American Society of Human Genetics 2015 Annual Meeting was held October 6-10, 2015, in Baltimore, Maryland. This year’s meeting had a total attendance of 7,866 – including scientific attendees, exhibitors, press, and speakers. It featured a number of New Initiatives, including several events aimed at making it easier to network with intent.

Webcasts and Slides Available Online

Video recordings of the 2015 Presidential Address, Presidential Symposium, Featured Plenary Abstracts, Invited Sessions, Distinguished Speakers Symposium, ASHG/ESHG Building Bridges Session, and Award Presentations are now available on the ASHG web portal. Please note that some speakers declined to have their presentations recorded or posted online.

New This Year! In addition to the presentations that were recorded, many platform presenters have opted in to sharing their slides via the web portal.

2015 Meeting Statistics

Total number of meeting attendees: 7,866

  • Scientific attendees (members, non-members, speakers, and press): 6,229
  • Exhibit personnel: 1,624

The 2015 scientific program included six featured plenary abstract presentations, 384 platform presentations, and more than 2,800 poster presentations. There were also 20 invited sessions and 10 invited workshops.

The 2015 Exhibit Hall was the largest ever, featuring 343 booths from more than 250 exhibiting companies.

Attendees did a great job documenting session content via social media. From October 6-10, the hashtag #ASHG15 was mentioned more than 16,000 times on Twitter and Instagram.
