GENERAL INFORMATION
ABOUT THE MEETING
All events for the 63
rd
Annual Meeting of The American Society of Human Genetics
will be held at the
Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (Convention Center)
,

unless otherwise indicated. The Convention Center, also referred to as the BCEC, is
located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02210; Tel: 617-954-2000.
We are celebrating the 65
th
year of ASHG at this year’s meeting. The Welcome

Reception and the meeting as a whole features the theme of milestones in genetics,
as highlighted by the 60
th
anniversary of the double helix and the 10
th
anniversary
of the first draft of the human genome. A matching game—facilitated through the
meeting badges—will encourage you to match your famous person with his or her
seminal discovery (or vice versa). Prizes, including 10 iPads, will be awarded to five
of the lucky pairs. Matching pairs must go to ASHG Central during the Welcome
Reception to drop their business cards into the drawing. Winners will be announced
at the ASHG Business Meeting on Friday afternoon.
The Welcome Reception, formerly named the Opening Mixer, and traditionally held on
Tuesday, will be held on Wednesday, in the Exhibit Hall, to encourage more effective
networking and socializing around shared interests. The poster topic categories can be
used as convening sites for researchers and clinicians working in a particular discipline.
All Annual Meeting details are available on the ASHG 2013 Annual Meeting website
at
.
The website will serve as the official e-publication
of the 2013 Annual Meeting.

Plenary Session Presentations (abstract-driven)
The plenary session includes a diverse set of six presentations, selected from the
top-rated abstracts submitted for this year’s annual meeting as determined by the
2013
Program Committee. These six abstracts have been programmed from 5:00 pm
until 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Each author will give a 15-minute presentation, with an

additional five minutes for discussion. The first author listed is the presenting author.
