Celebrate ASHG Welcome Reception

Wednesday, October 23
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

New for 2013! The Welcome Reception replaces the Opening Mixer, traditionally held on Tuesday. The theme for this year’s reception is to jointly celebrate the 65th anniversary of ASHG, the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the double helix and the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Human Genome Project. Each scientific registrant’s badge holds either a discovery or a name associated with a discovery. If you find your match, go to ASHG Central to enter your name into a drawing for a free iPad. We will be giving a total of 10 iPads away (one to each person in five matching teams). Announcement of the winners will be made during the ASHG Business Meeting on Friday. Yes, you must be present to win!

The Welcome Reception is open to all scientific registrants, exhibitors, and paid guests and offers an atmosphere in which attendees can become acquainted with new colleagues or reacquainted with former colleagues. Network with other attendees, visit exhibitor booths, and view posters; the poster areas offer a logical way to find colleagues with shared interests. At the same time, enjoy light snacks, and one complimentary drink for each scientific registrant. A cash bar with "happy hour" prices will also be offered.
