Advance Press Registration
The online application for ASHG 2012 press credentials is no longer available. Individuals who want to obtain press badges must apply on-site at the Press Office, Room 113 at the Moscone Center. To obtain press registrations onsite, individuals must present the credentials that are described at: http://www.ashg.org/2012meeting/pages/press_guidelines.shtml.
Journalists who need additional information or interviews related to specific presentations should contact press@ashg.org.
Journalists whose applications for press credentials are pre-approved (by October 30) can pick up their press badges and meeting materials at the ASHG Press Office.
Pre-registered press should bring business cards or other forms of identification with them. Before the Annual Meeting begins, ASHG will email the ASHG 2012 media briefings
schedule and related information to pre-registered press.
On-site Press Registration
To apply for press credentials onsite, individuals should go to the ASHG Press Office, Room 113 at the Moscone Center. For information about media eligibility requirements,
please see the ASHG 2012 Meeting Press Policies and Guidelines.
Exhibitor Use of the ASHG Press Office
Exhibitors and representatives of academic institutions, federal agencies and other organizations whose researchers will be presenting at the ASHG 2012 annual meeting may
leave press materials on a designated table at the entrance to the ASHG Press Office. ASHG will remove and dispose of materials not directly related to annual meeting research
presentations. The availability of these materials in the ASHG Press Office will not imply endorsement or approval. In addition, representatives of exhibitors and other
non-ASHG organizations will not be allowed to work in the ASHG Press Office, which will be limited to registered press.
Guidelines for Exhibitor/Industry* Press Events
1. Events for the press can be held in connection with
the meeting, but not in ASHG meeting space.
2. Such events must not conflict with ASHG's official
press briefing schedule. Thus, they should be held and
completed before 9:00 a.m. or held after 5:00 p.m.
3. PR agencies and other representatives of non-ASHG
organizations can leave press releases and related
information about their events on the table in the ASHG
pressroom that is reserved for industry*.
4. However, representatives of non-ASHG organizations
cannot "work" in the ASHG pressroom.
5. ASHG will not require review of the press materials
in advance but insists that they do not directly imply
or state an endorsement by ASHG. If the press material
does imply or state an endorsement, they will not be
allowed on the pressroom table, and ASHG's media
relations office will not assist the agency or the
company that it represents at future meetings.
*Refers to any non-ASHG
organization.
Please note that ASHG does NOT release its current or past press registration lists to exhibitors, public relations agencies or other
organizations.
